Outremer was formed by Sean & Emma Turkington. Who over the years became quite well known through the NSW medieval reenactment movement. Emma who was a RN for 24 years, and patched up many injuries over the years, some of them in rather bizarre circumstances!

She died on the 17th August 2001 and is greatly missed.

ABOUT THE GROUP

Outremer is a medieval reenactment group based in the Upper Blue Mountains (2 hours west of Sydney) in New South Wales, Australia.  Outremer was formed in 1993 and was first located  in the Sutherland Shire of Sydney, then moved to the Blue Mountains in 1995.

Outremer's period is based on the 12th & 13th Century Crusader states of the Holy Lands, Cyprus & Greece. From 1169 to the fall of Acre in 1291.

Reenactment/Living History groups try to portray people of a particular time period and place with some degree of historical accuracy. Activities can be combat, crafts, cooking, games etc.

We, like other reenactment groups,  dress up, meet up with other groups and FIGHT!    (Though there is more to it than that!)
